The gimlet is a classic cocktail that dates back to the 19th century and was initially crafted to cure what ails you. We've added a summery, sweet, modern twist to this classic cocktail with blueberry + chamomile syrup.
What You'll Need:
2.5 oz gin
3/4 oz blueberry + chamomile simple syrup
Garnish: Chamomile flower and blueberries
For the blueberry + chamomile syrup:
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Chamomile tea (1 bag)
How You'll Make it:
For the blueberry chamomile syrup, add water, sugar, and berries to a saucepan and simmer over low-med heat. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and muddle until all the berries are crushed. Add the chamomile tea bag to the hot syrup and steep for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bag, let it cool, and then strain it into a container.
For the cocktail, fill your shaker with ice, 3/4 oz of blueberry + chamomile syrup, 2.5 oz of gin, and the juice of just under half a lemon and shake.
Strain into a coupe and garnish with chamomile flowers and blueberries.
